Terms & Conditions for the Harley-Davidson Music Contest UK (the “Competition”)
- Introduction
- The Competition is organised and run by Harley-Davidson Europe Limited (“H-D”), who can be contacted at 192b Park Drive, Milton Park, Abingdon, England, OX14 4SD. By entering this Competition, you agree to these terms and conditions (the “Terms”) and any decisions reached by H-D, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Competition.
- The period during which Participants can enter the Competition starts at 00:00am (GMT) on 1 February 2026 and ends at 23:59pm (GMT) on 2 March 2026 (the “Submission Period”).
- The public voting period starts at 00:00am (GMT) on 20 March 2026 and ends at 23:59pm (GMT) on 20 March 2026 (the “Voting Period”).
- The selection of the Winning Act by the jury will take place by 16 April 2026.
- Who can enter this Competition?
- Solo performers or bands of up to four (4) people may enter this Competition. Each solo performer and each band member is a “Participant”. Participants must:
- be residents of, and have a postal address in the United Kingdom; and
- be aged 18 or over.
- The Competition is not open to directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of H-D, any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by H-D, or any supplier of goods or services in connection with the Competition, or their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.
- By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted is true, current and complete. H-D reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all Participants and disqualify a Participant (and the Participant’s band, if applicable), for submitting false information. Each Participant further warrants that their participation does not breach any existing contractual obligations.
- All solo performers and all band members must meet the requirements of this clause 2. Bands must not exceed four (4) members.
- Solo performers or bands of up to four (4) people may enter this Competition. Each solo performer and each band member is a “Participant”. Participants must:
- How does the Competition work?
How to Enter- No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition and entry is free.
- To enter the Competition, the solo performer or one (1) Participant from the band must:
- complete the online entry form at www.hdmusiccontest.com/en/upload-video during the Submission Period. For the avoidance of doubt only one (1) entry form needs to be completed for each band. For band entries, the Participant completing the entry form for the band must provide information for all band members. The entry form will require the Participant to accept the terms of the Competition, the privacy policy contained at https://www.harley-davidson.com/gb/en/footer/utility/privacy-policy.htmland the image and video release form on behalf of themselves and each member of the band. For band entries, the Participant submitting the entry warrants that all band members have consented to the entry and to their personal data being submitted and have read and agreed to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and image and video release form.
- upload a video via the online entry form containing a single song showing the solo performer or the complete band singing/playing an original song of any genre (the “Video”). The Video must comply with all requirements detailed in these Terms.(together, an “Entry”).
- The Video must:
- Be in MOV or MP4 format, with a maximum size of 100MB;
- Not be more than four (4) minutes in length;
- Not contain any cover songs or non-original material (only original songs are permitted);
- Only show the solo performer or the band members (no other persons must be present);
- Visibly show the number of band members that corresponds to that indicated on the online entry form;
- Not contain any references to commercial content other than H-D (including brands, trade names, trade marks, service marks or logos) aimed at promoting or communicating about a brand, product or service other than H-D;
- Not be offensive, obscene, immoral, inappropriate, illegal, discriminatory, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful; and
- Not include photo montages, videos from online galleries or similar.
- Band names, song titles and lyrics must not include offensive, obscene, inappropriate, illegal, discriminatory, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent material.
- Each band or solo performer can only submit a maximum of one (1) entry to the Competition by uploading a single Video.
- Members of a band registered in the Competition cannot participate as members of other bands or as solo performers. Solo performers registered in the Competition cannot participate as members of a band. Each Participant can submit a maximum of one (1) Entry.
- All Entries must be received by H-D during the Submission Period, or they will be void. H-D will not accept responsibility for:
- Competition Entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
- any change in dates, times or cancellations or other arrangements that may prevent the Winning Act from accepting, taking or using the Prize.
- Uploaded Videos are subject to review and moderation by H-D. Videos that do not comply with these Terms will be rejected and will not be counted as a valid Entry. The band or solo performer will be notified.
- Solo performers and bands whose Videos are accepted as valid Entries will receive a unique code via email that will be associated with the solo performer or band and the Video. All valid Entries will be visible on the website www.hdmusiccontest.com/en/gallery from 3 March 2026, identified by the unique code and the name of the band.
How to Vote
- The public will be able to view all valid Entries from 3 March on the website www.hdmusiccontest.com/en/gallery.
- During the Voting Period, the public will be able to vote for their favourite Video:
- via the dedicated page on the website www.hdmusiccontest.com/en/gallery; or
- at the H-D Night event which will take place in all H-D dealerships located in the United Kingdom on 20 March 2026. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to view and vote for their favourite Video via QR codes.
- Voting will be open exclusively during the Voting Period.
- To vote, voters must: (i) indicate in the provided form the code of their preferred solo performer/band/Video; (ii) enter their email address; and (iii) accept these Terms and the privacy policy. After voting, each voter will receive an email to confirm their vote by clicking on a link in the email. The vote will only be counted after clicking on the link contained in the email.
- Each voter may vote only once.
- Competition Participants (i.e. solo performers and all members of competing bands) are excluded from voting.
Selection of the Winning Act
- The twenty-five (25) Videos that receive the highest number of votes during the Voting Period (the “Top Voted Entries”) will be submitted to a jury for judging; in the event of a tie for the twenty-fifth (25th) position, all Videos tied for that position shall also be submitted to the jury for judging. The jury will assess each Video based on the following criteria: (i) the technical quality of the musical performance; (ii) the creativity and originality of the Video; and (iii) the connection of the Video with the H-D brand. By 16 April 2026, the jury will select the winning Video from the Top Voted Entries based on these criteria. The solo performer or band that submitted the winning Video shall be the winner of the Competition (the “Winning Act”).
- H-D will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes to H-D requesting these details (and who encloses a self-addressed envelope) at the address set out in clause 1(a).
Winning Act Notification and Requirements
- The Winning Act will be notified on or around April 15 2026 via email to the email address provided on the online entry form for each Participant (“Notification”). For the avoidance of doubt, the Notification email will be sent to all members of the Winning Act (where applicable), but only one (1) Participant is required to respond on behalf of the Winning Act within the Claim Period (as defined below) and in accordance with these Terms.
- The Prize must be claimed in accordance with the instructions in the Notification message within five (5) days of the Notification (the “Claim Period”) by emailing H-D at the email address specified in the Notification. In order to receive the Prize, the Winning Act must provide the following within the Claim Period: (i) a photo or scan of a passport for each Participant; (ii) written confirmation of acceptance of the Prize ; (iii) a signed copy of H-D’s band agreement in the form provided by H-D; and (iv) any further information requested by H-D, in accordance with the instructions set out in the Notification. Failure to claim the Prize in accordance with this clause will result in the forfeit of the Prize and an alternative band or solo performer will be chosen as the Winning Act in accordance with clause 3(p).
- H-D shall not be liable for any Notification or other email not being received due to network malfunctions, technical problems, a Participant’s email inbox being full or deactivated, or emails being filtered as spam due to a Participant’s or their service provider’s settings. If invalid documents are received, H-D will notify the Winning Act by email that the Prize cannot be confirmed. For the avoidance of doubt, if the required documents are received after the expiry of the Claim Period, the Prize will not be confirmed.
- The Winning Act will receive their Prize within the timeframe agreed separately between H-D and the Winning Act after the Winning Act provides H-D with the information requested in the Notification (as set out in clause 3(s)).
- If the Winning Act (or any member of the Winning Act) is found to be ineligible or fails to comply with these Terms, then the Winning Act may, in H-D’s sole discretion, be disqualified. The jury will have selected two (2) other Videos from the Top Voted Entries, and the next highest-ranked Video shall be selected as the alternative winner.
- What is the Prize?
- There will be one (1) Winning Act selected from all valid Entries received. For the avoidance of doubt, there will be one (1) total Prize, to be won either by a band or a solo performer.
- The prize consists of:
- A slot to perform live for a minimum of 15 minutes at the European H.O.G. Rally (18th – 21st June 2026) event in Cascais, Portugal (the exact date and time of the performances will be communicated to the Winning Act in sufficient time);
- A slot to perform live for a minimum of 15 minutes at the European Bike Week (8th – 13th September 2026) event in Faaker See, Austria (the exact date and time of the performances will be communicated in sufficient time to the Winning Act);
- All songs performed during these live performances must be original and must meet all the conditions applicable to songs used in the Competition.
- Return travel from one of the closest airports/stations to the Winning Act’s residences (where the Winning Act is a band, one of the closest airports/stations to each of the band members’ residences) to one of the closest airports/stations closest to the location for each event;
- One (1) night in a 3* hotel with breakfast for the Winning Act for each of the events;
- One (1) lunch and one (1) dinner for the Winning Act for each of the events up to a total value of £500 per person;
- One (1) H-D T-shirt per member of the Winning Act; and
- Return transfers between the airport/station and the hotel and between the hotel and the event venue for the Winning Act
(together, the “Prize”).
- The administration, logistics and payment of the Prize shall be managed by H-D. The Prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and has a cash value of zero. The Prize is for personal use only and is not for resale. The Prize may be forfeited in the event that H-D determines that the Prize is being misused. H-D reserves the right to substitute a Prize of an equal or greater value in its absolute discretion.
- Where the Winning Act is a band, the presence of all band members is required during the live performances included in the Prize, no replacement is authorised. The absence of one or more band members will result in the loss of the right to the Prize.
- When attending the live performances forming part of the Prize, the Winning Act must wear attire that is free from offensive language or imagery.
- H-D shall not be liable for any loss of, theft of, or damage to any equipment belonging to the Winning Act or any band member.
- Technical equipment necessary for the performance will be provided at the event venues.
- If the Winning Act (or any member of the Winning Act in the case of a band) does not show up at the airport/station/event venue at the agreed time, it cannot claim any reimbursement or an alternative Prize.
- If the Winning Act chooses to use their own means of transportation to travel to the events, no reimbursement of travel or transfer costs will be provided by H-D.
- No compensation will be given if the Prize is used partially.
- The Prize does not include the cost of travel from the Winning Act’s residence(s) to the departure airport/station.
- Where the Winning Act is a band, all band members must travel together when using the transfers provided between the hotel and the event venue.
- The Prize is limited to the items expressly set out in this clause 4. The Winning Act shall be solely responsible for any costs or expenses not expressly included as part of the Prize, including but not limited to personal expenses, additional meals, and incidental costs.
- Certain elements of the Prize are provided by third parties, including but not limited to airlines, hotels and transfer providers. The Winning Act must comply with the terms and conditions of those third-party providers.
- The Winning Act (and, where applicable, each Participant comprising the Winning Act) shall be solely responsible for the payment of any taxes, duties or other charges that may be payable in connection with the receipt or use of the Prize.
- The Winning Act will receive their Prize in accordance with the event dates specified in clause 4(b). H-D will coordinate all Prize arrangements with the Winning Act in sufficient time to enable the Winning Act to attend both events.
- In the event that H-D is unable to deliver the Prize, in whole or in part, due to unforeseen circumstances constituting force majeure (including, without limitation, natural disasters, acts of government, war, terrorism, pandemic, or other events beyond H-D’s reasonable control), H-D reserves the right to modify the composition of the Prize or replace it with a prize of equal or greater value. In the event that force majeure affects the scheduled date of a performance forming part of the Prize, H-D shall notify the Winning Act as soon as reasonably practicable and communicate the revised date. For the avoidance of doubt, the date of any performance cannot be changed at the request of the Winning Act.
- Intellectual Property Rights and Use of Submissions
- By submitting an Entry to the Competition, the Participant submitting the Entry warrants, and where the Participant is part of a band, warrants on behalf of all band members that:
- any Video and original song used as part of their Entry is their own original creation;
- they are the sole copyright holders or have obtained all necessary permissions and paid all applicable fees;
- the Entry will not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party;
- all band members have agreed to grant H-D the worldwide right to use the Entry in relation to the Competition, in advertising and/or marketing of H-D’s products and brand. Such use may include, without limitation, reproducing, copying, translating, adapting, publishing or making available the Entry on H-D’s or any H-D group company’s websites, on any social media account controlled by H-D (or approved third-party partners/affiliates), and in H-D’s other advertising and/or marketing materials. The rights granted in this clause are perpetual (i.e. they last forever), and royalty-free (i.e. Participants will not be entitled to any compensation or other payments from H-D). The grant includes the right for H‑D to sublicense to its affiliates, agencies, service providers, media partners, and event partners, to the extent necessary to administer the Competition and to exploit the rights granted hereunder on H‑D’s behalf; and
- all band members have agreed to irrevocably waive all moral rights in their Entries to which they are entitled; and
- all band members have read and agreed to the Image and Video Release Form provided by H-D on the online entry form.
- Participants will retain ownership of the copyright in their Entries to the Competition.
- For the avoidance of doubt, Participant’s Entries includes the Videos.
- Each Participant agrees to indemnify H-D against losses, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from any third-party claim that the Video or original song infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party. This indemnity does not extend to H‑D’s own negligence or wilful misconduct; any contributory negligence of H‑D shall be taken into account.
- General
- Following the conclusion of the Competition, H-D will make available the Winning Act’s name, the solo performer’s or each band member’s surname (where relevant) and geographical location together with their winning Entry to acknowledge that they are the Winning Act. The Winning Act may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity in connection with the Competition. By entering the Competition, Participants consent to such publication. The Winning Act (or members of) will have the right to object to this information being published or to request a reduction in the amount of information being published. H-D may be required to provide this information to the relevant regulatory authorities.
- H-D reserves the right to amend the rules of the Competition, to withdraw the Competition at any time if circumstances beyond its control make this unavoidable, or to cancel or modify the Prize in the event of non-compliance with these Terms.
- H-D will use your personal details to contact you for administrative purposes relating to this Competition.
- H-D will keep your personal information safe and will use your personal information in accordance with the privacy policy available on its website (https://www.harley-davidson.com/gb/en/footer/utility/privacy-policy.html). This includes your image, likeness, voice and performance as captured in your Entry video, which will be used for administering and promoting the Competition in accordance with these Terms and the image and video release form. You may withdraw your Entry from the Competition at any time by contacting H-D, which will result in your disqualification from the Competition.
- The decision of H-D regarding any aspect of the Competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
- Any cancellation or changes will be posted on the Competition page (www.hdmusiccontest.com/en).
- With the exception of liability which cannot be excluded by law, H-D is not liable for, and you release H-D from, liabilities relating to any direct or indirect loss or damage which is suffered as a result of entering the Competition, failing to win, winning, accepting or using a Prize.
- These Terms shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
